How much does a website cost in Cameroon?
Between 150,000 and 2,500,000 FCFA, and that gap is not arbitrary. Here is what creates it, and how to know which side you belong on.

The ranges we actually see
A three to five page showcase site, properly written and published, runs between 150,000 and 500,000 FCFA. That is what a craftsman, a practice or a shop needs to exist when someone searches for its name.
A company site with booking, quotes or online ordering, in two languages, runs between 500,000 and 1,500,000 FCFA. That is what a hotel, a residence or a service company needs to receive requests rather than only be seen.
Beyond that you are no longer buying a site but a tool: customer area, payment, stock, dashboard. The price then follows the real work, and it is quoted after understanding the business, never before.
What really pushes the bill up
The number of pages matters far less than people think. What costs is what has to work.
- Content: if the text and photos have to be produced, that is a job of its own, often the longest one.
- Features: a booking system with availability has nothing in common with a contact form.
- Languages: a bilingual site means twice the content, not twice the development.
- Integration: connecting the site to WhatsApp, to a point of sale or to invoicing.
- Upkeep: a site nobody updates looks dated within a year.
The three costs nobody announces
Domain name and hosting, between 30,000 and 120,000 FCFA a year depending on traffic. Insist they be in your name: that is the difference between owning your address and renting it from your provider.
A professional mailbox. A company writing from a Gmail address loses credibility with serious clients, and that is measured in contracts.
Changes. Ask before signing what a text or photo change costs. That is where some providers make their margin back, and where many sites end up frozen.
The calculation worth making
A site is not judged by its price but by what it replaces. A hotel taking ten bookings a month through a platform charging 18% pays that commission every month, forever. A site that captures even a third of those bookings directly pays for itself within a quarter.
So ask the question the other way round: what is not having a site costing you today?
Questions that come up
Does it have to be paid in one go?
No. The usual practice in Cameroon is a deposit up front and the balance on delivery. Be wary of anyone asking for full payment before you have seen anything.
How long before it is online?
A showcase site ships in under 24 hours when the content is ready. The three months some providers quote almost always come from content that never arrives, not from the development.
Do I really own the site?
Only if the domain name and hosting are in your name. Ask for it in writing before signing; it is the only guarantee that you can leave one day without losing everything.
